ABOUT socohrvp.org

The domain socohrvp.org was launched as part of the Sonoma County Human Rights Visibility Project, an initiative by the Sonoma County Commission on Human Rights aimed at improving visibility and reporting of human rights incidents across the county.

PROJECT GOALS & FEATURES

  • Create a user-friendly, multilingual (e.g., Amharic, Arabic, Hindi, Nepali, Spanish, Vietnamese) platform for anonymous reporting of human rights concerns in areas such as education, healthcare, housing, labor, immigration, disability, homelessness, and law enforcement.
  • Provide district-level mapping of reports to inform targeted community responses.
  • Build a resource database to guide reporters and direct them to appropriate agencies or support services.
  • Enhance digital outreach through modern websites and social media campaigns.
  • Strengthen community partnerships and improve access for underserved and non-English-speaking populations.

COMMUNITY IMPACT
The initiative was designed to amplify underrepresented voices, allow residents to report violations safely, and help inform policy changes by the Board of Supervisors and County’s Equity Office.

OFFICIAL BACKING
Managed by the Sonoma County Commission on Human Rights under the County’s Human Resources Department, the project operated as an “Ad Hoc Committee” during 2023–24 and continues to be part of the Commission's evolving approach to human rights oversight.
